The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have a roster full of players, and we want to talk about them all. One Foot Down’s player profile series will take a look at every single one of them, and hopefully we all learn a little bit more about these guys, and Notre Dame’s chances for the upcoming 2019 season.
#27 JD Bertrand LB
JD Bertrand joins the Irish from Blessed Trinity High School in Roswell, Georgia. Bertrand decommitted from the University of Georgia Bulldogs before committing to the Irish. Uncertainty has defined his journey to South Bend. Bertrand signed with the Irish before securing any scholarship, something that remains uncertain as the season draws closer and the team has reached its 85 scholarship “limit.” Despite all the unknowns, Bertrand has distinguished himself as the no. 17 outside linebacker in the nation according to rivals.com. He recorded 83 tackles last year to end his high school career.

Not all players face a recruiting path so uncertain. Here’s “Livin’ on a Prayer.”
Hey, Dog, HEY!
This golden retriever pup has the loyalty to his goals to improve his own game and the team’s impact.

2019 Outlook
Bertrand will likely head to the scout team and put the focus on strength and conditioning. However, this four-star linebacker will bring toughness, aggression, and “football smarts” to the Irish.
