This Guy Plays Notre Dame Football: #69 Aaron Banks, Guard

A nice player to profile

Mike Miller | OneFootDown

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have a roster full of players, and we want to talk about them all. One Foot Down’s player profile series will take a look at every single one of them, and hopefully we all learn a little bit more about these guys, and Notre Dame’s chances for the upcoming 2019 season.

#69 Aaron Banks, Guard

Aaron Banks is a junior still with three years of eligibility left, as he did not play in his Freshman season of 2017. Last year, he saw game action in 12 games, and he saw his first career start come against Navy. After Alex Bars’ injury, the platoon of the O-Line needed to step up, and Banks filled in. This year, he will look to continue that role as a member of the O-Line. He is coming off a recent, but successful, foot surgery after he broke it. He could be ready to go for the season, but he might need some help as well.

Just look at Banks’ jersey number and you’ll see why I chose the song with “nice” in the title.

I don’t know. Dog looks poised and ready to go, just like Aaron seems.

2019 Outlook

This summer, Aaron Banks had a surgery done to repair his broken foot. Last season, he came in for quality game minutes on the o-line. However, if Banks isn’t ready to go full boar into the season, he might have to be replaced by Josh Lugg (see more from me down the road on him) and/or Trevor Ruhland. He was a big help on the line last season, and hopefully he can go full tilt as the season ramps up early into the game against Georgia on September 21.
