The recent ND grad confirmed his journey abroad just after taking part in the Minnesota Wild’s rookie camp. The Panthers’ director of hockey Gui Doucet said, “...Dylan will be a great fit for the kind of team we are putting together which will excite the Panthers’ army of fans.”
Malmquist was an essential part of the Irish drive toward the 2019 NCAA Division I Men’s Ice Hockey Tournament. He showed aggression when it mattered. For example, he claimed one assist against the Minnesota Golden Gophers as the Irish clinched the Big Ten Title and two against the Penn State Nittany Lions in another critical March matchup. The Irish alternate captain also contributed ten goals in his senior season. Malmquist went on to receive an All-Big Ten Honorable Mention as the Irish finished last year’s memorable season.
