The lineup for the annual Big 10/ACC Challenge was announced on Thursday, and it will take place during the first week of December. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are once again a participant in this battle for bragging rights (and very little else). The Irish will play the Maryland Terrapins on Wednesday, December 4 in College Park.

The Terrapins were a longtime member of the ACC until they jumped ship for a television network (and somehow Notre Dame was so evil in the early 90’s). Their results on the hardwood in the Big 10 have been up and down — although never bad.
Last season Maryland was beat by the Nebraska Cornhuskers in the Big 10 Tournament, and was a 6 seed in the NCAA Tournament. The Terrapins were ousted in the second round in a close game with the 3 seed, LSU Tigers.
The Irish last played Maryland in 2013 and lost on the road, 74-66. Both Notre Dame and the Terrapins have played on both sides of the Big 10/ACC Challenge — so there’s a fun fact for y’all that you already knew.
