On Tuesday, Notre Dame Fighting Irish pitcher Cameron Junker became the first member of the Irish baseball team selected in the 2019 MLB Draft when the Pittsburgh Pirates selected him in the 10th round, 304th overall.

Junker pitched to a 3-5 record this past season. He recorded 73 strikeouts and 40 walks in 77.1 IP to go along with a 4.19 ERA. As a junior, Junker does have another year of eligibility should he decide not to sign with the Pirates and return for his senior season.
Several members of the 2019 team are still waiting for their names to be called as the draft wraps up today.
