The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have a roster full of players, and we want to talk about them all. One Foot Down’s player profile series will take a look at every single one of them, and hopefully we all learn a little bit more about these guys, and Notre Dame’s chances for the upcoming 2019 season.
Troy Pride Jr.
He is an established player now on the defense. 2019 will be his 4th year in the program and Pride has shown improvement in every year. Last season was somewhat overshadowed by the outstadning play of Julian Love. Next year Pride will be counted on to be a shutdown corner. He seems to be as rock solid as it gets.
Troy Pride Jr. will look to build on his 19 starts and his 3 career interceptions.
Taylor Swift, Chicago, Bon Jovi
Now for a little fun. How do I link Troy Pride Jr. to one of those three things?
I am going with the Chicago Marathon. Pride is a former sprinter after all.
Hey Dog Hey
This has to be the easiest answer of all time. Troy Pride Jr. is a greyhound. The fastest dog in the world matches perfectly with the fastest guy on the Notre Dame football team.
Troy Pride Jr. has the chance to emerge as one of college football’s best cornerbacks this year. He is the most poised of anyone on the team to take this leap. All reports out of spring ball were that Pride was locking people down effortlessly.
Julian Love had some ridiculous pass break ups in 2018. This clogs the memory when it come to Troy Pride Jr. Do people know that the only touchdown Pride let up last year was in garbage time to USC? Only one touchdown all year!
Troy Pride Jr. could end up being a captain and anchoing the pass defense in 2019. Things are only looking up for the senior corner.
