This Guy Plays Notre Dame Football: #17 Isaiah Robertson, Wide Receiver

Like the Bible, not the Piston

And so begins another round of “This Guy Plays Notre Dame Football” here on OFD. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have a roster full of players, and we want to talk about them all. One Foot Down’s player profile series will take a look at every single one of them, and hopefully we all learn a little bit more about these guys, and Notre Dame’s chances for the upcoming 2019 season.

#17 Isaiah Robertson, WR

I knew I was having deja vu for a reason. Isaiah is a bit familiar to me. I’ll do another profile on him, as we’re in a whole other year right now. Isaiah has been a rover in position title but also as a rover of positions. He was recruited as a safety for 2017, was on the depth chart as a linebacker/rover for 2018, and now he is listed as a wide receiver. He’s moving all over the place. Additionally, Robertson did not see any game play last year. So, he is a junior with three years of eligibility left.

Taylor Swift, Bon Jovi, or Chicago

For all of the changes of position, maybe Isaiah was misunderstood, and we need to give him a chance at yet another position on the field.

Apparently Beagles are patient, and Isaiah has been patient with his process for playing. Thus, he is a Beagle.

2019 Outlook

Isaiah was a wide receiver as well as a safety in high school, so maybe this is a more natural position for him. Regardless, he could still see little playing time with the receivers ahead of him. Maybe he’ll see some time and some caches this year, we shall see.
