This Guy Plays Notre Dame Football: #12 Ian Book, Quarterback

The clear cut #1 guy at quarterback for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in 2019 is Ian Book. There is no controversy or competition. Ian Book is the man for this year. It is his team to lead. That is refreshing to see after the 2016 and 2018 seasons. Quarterback compeitions are fun to talk about but often lead to distractions on the team. There is none of that this year. Ian Book is back and ready for more.

By now, we all know the story of how Ian Book was a 3 star recruit who was only seen as being a career backup.

After the season he had last year, he is anything but a backup.

Ian Book had a historic season last year after he was implemented as the starting quarterback. There will be high expectations now in 2019. Book is looking at being a senior, captain and the quarterback. He ranks as highly as anyone on the team. The bar has been set and we will know see if Ian Book can clear that bar.

I am ready to go great lengths to make this comparison.

Taylor Swift sings “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” and that is what Ian Book did to the quarterback room last year. Brandon Wimbush and the starting QB job were never getting back together because of how well Ian Book played.

Book turned a Taylor Swift song into real life.

This is easy. A quick google search told me that the dog to make a leader is a Border Collie.

Ian Book is a Border Collie.

2019 Outlook

Notre Dame will go as far as Ian Book will take them.

The good thing for Ian Book is that he is more than ready for the challenge. He is expected to produce at a high level. The offense needs Ian Book to spread the ball around and make plays.

An improved Ian Book is a scary thought for opposing defenses. One would think that with all the game experience in 2018, Book will build on that and become even more of a threat.
