Notre Dame Football: 2019 Scholarship Chart Update With Position Changes

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish started spring football last week, and with it, the scholarship chart and positional groupings changed.

Devin Studstill entered the transfer portal

The senior safety had an odd career at Notre Dame. It was one that saw him as the only option, and then gradually transformed into no option at all. According to Brian Kelly, “Stud” is in the best shape of his life. The Florida native could have a long list of options in his home state. Perhaps even the UCF Knights, which has seen a handful of Irish players transfer to over the years.

Position shifting

There are always a few moves in the spring, and I caution you to take spring moves with a grain of salt. Still, it isn’t rumor — these moves have been made.

  • Jarrett Patterson to center
  • D.J. Brown to safety
  • Avery Davis to cornerback

Quick look at the chart

Notre Dame is far closer to 85 right now than at this time last year. They are currently sitting at 86, and could increase that number with a commitment from transfer WR Eric Kumah.
