For the fifth consecutive year, Uplifting Athletes is empowering NFL prospects with the opportunity to use their NFL Pro Day as a platform to give back by raising funds and awareness in support of the Rare Disease Community.
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are participating in this great cause during the Notre Dame Pro Day on Wednesday, March 20. Miles Boykin, Julian Love, Tyler Newsome, and Justin Yoon are partnering with Uplifting Athletes and committing their Pro Day performances to raise support for an important cause.
Uplifting Athletes is a nonprofit organization that was founded in 2007. It has a national network of chapters that are ran by the student athletes of those chapters such as the Ohio State Buckeyes, Clemson Tigers, Florida State Seminoles — and many others. Irish walk-on linebacker Jimmy Thompson is the Chapter President at Notre Dame.
From their website:
Our Mission is to inspire the rare disease community with hope through the power of sport.
Our Vision is to empower people to take action against rare diseases and be a catalyst for the medical community to find cures.
**A rare disease is one that affects fewer than 200,000 Americans and consequently lacks financial incentive to make and market new treatments.**
Miles Boykin, Julian Love, Justin Yoon and Tyler Newsome are asking fans and supporters to pledge for the workouts they perform at the Notre Dame Pro Day on March 20th. They are also all involved with the Reps For Rare Diseases campaign, along with over 50 other Division 1 NFL Draft eligible prospects.
The proceeds from Reps For Rare Diseases support the mission of Uplifting Athletes and its charitable programs: Rare Disease Awareness, Rare Disease Research, Uplifting Experiences and Uplifting Leaders.
You can help this cause by following one of links in the tweets below to pledge.
