Stadium’s Brett McMurphy released college bowl predictions today, a whole TEN MONTHS before the first bowl game kicks off, and has the Notre Dame Fighting Irish making a return trip to the Cotton Bowl to face the UCF Knights.
McMurphy, formerly of ESPN, said the Irish would be the highest-ranked team remaining after all of the other New Year’s Six bowls are slotted, and predicts the Knights to be the highest-ranked Group of Five conference champion.
“For UCF, this would mean a third consecutive New Year’s 6 bowl trip and, oh the irony, if the Knights are led by Notre Dame transfer Brandon Wimbush at quarterback,” wrote McMurphy.
The writer also predicts:
- Peach Bowl: Clemson (No. 1 seed) vs. Alabama (No. 4) seed
- Fiesta Bowl: Georgia (No. 2 seed) vs. Oklahoma (No. 3) seed
- Rose Bowl: Ohio State vs. Utah
- Sugar Bowl: Texas vs. Florida
- Orange Bowl: Syracuse (!!) vs. LSU
There’s absolutely zero reason to take these predictions seriously, so let’s have some fun.
