While other holidays get more press when it comes to charity work, we have this sweet little gem from Valentine’s Day that will make your heart grow a few sizes (sorry Mr. Grinch). C.J. Prosise, a former running back for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and current member of the Seattle Seahawks did something very special on Valentine’s Day.
While we were all distracted with athlete’s and other celebrities going on social media and sharing the extravagant gifts they gave their significant other on February 14th, Prosise did something for the children.
C.J. Prosise made a special Valentine’s Day appearance at Mary’s Emergency Family Shelter in Seattle to visit with families and hand out cupcakes, cookies and presents to all the children. The event served approximately 48 people who currently live at Mary’s Place.
Mary’s Place Family centers are 24/7 facilities that provide shelter for moms, dads, and children at night, and resources for housing, employment, and wellness each day. Local service providers join the facility on site to make it easy for families to get the services they need.
I just wanted to put this out there because on a day that is supposed to be all about love, here’s a former Domer that truly showed what love can do for those in most need of it in their life.
