For the second weekend in a row, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish Hockey team was swept in a non-conference home and-home series, this time against the Boston College Eagles. After game 1 Friday in Chestnut Hill the two teams squared off in South Bend on Sunday. From start to finish the game was all Boston College as the Eagles ran away with a 6-1 win.
First Period
Boston College wasted no time getting on the scoreboard as they took a 1-9 lead just 36 seconds into the game. They added two more goals in a dominant first period for a 3-0 lead after 20 minutes.
Second Period
Boston College was first to find a goal again in the second period, extending their lead to 4-0 two minutes in on the power play. Notre Dame managed to get one back late in the period when Trevor Janicke took a pass from Alex Steeves in the slot and had a clean shot for his seventh goal of the season.

Third Period
Notre Dame couldn’t muster any sort of comeback in the final period as Boston College added two more goals just 20 seconds apart halfway through. Notre Dame went 0-4 on the power play and managed just 28 shots on goal and after a scorching start to the season the Irish are now losing ground after three tough weekends in a row.
