The Irish headed to the East coast to take on the Boston College Eagles, but left with a shutout loss, and another blow to the elite Irish structure. What is it lately with the Irish and teams named for birds?
First Period
The first twenty minutes of play were scoreless. However, Boston College set the pace for the game, and doubled Notre Dame’s 9 shots on goal.
Second Period
The Eagles figured it all out in the second period, and kept control from there. It was Julius Matilla who got the Eagles on the board with a power play goal. Logan Hutsko brought it to 2-0 later in the period. Barely two minutes later, Patrick Giles chalked up the third goal for the Eagles.
Third Period
BC’s David Cotton locked it in for the Eagles with the team’s fourth goal of the game.
