As Brian Kelly said after 33-9 for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish over the Iowa St. Cyclones in the Camping World Bowl... there was nothing we could do about pollsters leaving the Irish at #15 for the last 5 weeks of the season despite how well they were playing. It’s just a ridiculous part of this insane (and wonderful) sport.
While the line was around 3 points, the Irish demolished the cover and did it with a fair amount of style — even with the 4th quarter clock-grind mode.
Here are all the highlights from the game. Chase Claypool was amazing, and Tony Jones Jr. did something no other Irish player in history has ever done. Add that to a defensive effort that allowed only 95 total yards in the second half, and it was an impressive effort.
