For all intents and purposes, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish are done with their 2020 recruiting class. Ramon Henderson’s commitment on Wednesday afternoon pretty much locked things up in terms of numbers and targets.
So what about 2021?
Notre Dame currently has the #1 class for the 2021 recruiting cycle, which includes 4 Star quarterback Tyler Buchner from California. Tyler has been making a strong name for himself and a strong case as a 5-Star with a dominating junior year, and he has Irish fans salivating for his arrival in South Bend.
Is that going to come a little sooner than the original plan?
I don’t know, but there’s this tweet which has my full attention:
Catching wind that a certain QB from San Diego headed to #NotreDame in the 2021 class might be leaving a year early. TrYing to find a LittlE infoRmation to BUCk tHe roomer Now, vERy interesting.

I’m sure our friends at the recruiting sites will start to look into this shortly, but it’s intriguing enough to talk about — as long as it’s in the context of “this is a rumor right now.”
J.T. Daniels, the injured USC Trojans quarterback took this same leap, so maybe it’s something about California quarterbacks that makes them want to get to school EVEN sooner than an early enrollee.
I don’t know, but there’s the tweet. It’s a rumor until proven one way or another.
HAPPY SIGNING DAY!
