Early Signing Period: 4-Star ATH Ramon Henderson commits and signs with Notre Dame

Notre Dame scored its 18th recruit for the 2020 class

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish added another 4-Star prospect to its recruiting class on National Signing Day. Ramon Henderson from Bakersfield, California chose the Irish over the Utah Utes, Tennessee Volunteers, and Oklahoma Sooners at a signing ceremony.

Henderson is listed as an athlete, but the 6-2 185 pounder has been recruited by the Irish to play cornerback in South Bend. His length and athleticism would make an ideal corner on the boundary, and he has the ball skills of a wide receiver to be dangerous in coverage.

From 247 Sports:

Henderson is an intriguing two-way prospect who has the top-end speed and hands to be an elite playmaking receiver but the ball skills to be a cover cornerback. Creates separation and consistently gets behind the defender but needs to be consistent in his route running. Defensively, has the length and speed to recover and cover all types of receivers, but still raw in his technique. An accomplished 100m and 200m runner, ran a 10.59 as a junior. Projects as multi-year Power 5 starter and projects as third-day NFL draft selection.

Henderson becomes the 18th member of this recruiting class — which has a 19th member in a way with Ohio State transfer Isaiah Pryor in the fold. His commitment pushes Notre Dame’s team ranking at #9.

Ramon is the 4th cornerback to sign with Notre Dame in this class. The Irish wanted more numbers at the position — and they certainly got them.
