The early period for National Signing Day starts today and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish may very well lock up their entire 2020 class in just a few hours. As it’s been said ,amy times before — the early signing period has changed the game.

This fascinating bit of knowledge was dropped by Banner Society’s Bud Elliott in Tuesday’s Read Option newsletter:

80%: People I speak with in the industry believe the percentage of recruits who sign in the ESP will top that mark this year, after being in the 60s in Year 1 and 70s in Year 2. More than ever, this is the new National Signing Day.

For the Irish, it’s more like 100% — but 80% is still pretty incredible if you look back at the old way.
