We shouldn’t have expected much movement for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the latest college football playoff rankings — but the absolute cap the committee has put on this team is a little ridiculous.
The Irish are ranked #16 once again despite 3 weeks in a row with 30+ point wins.

The loss to the Michigan Wolverines is the biggest anchor I’ve ever seen on a team. The committee still has a 3 loss Auburn Tigers team ranked ahead of Notre Dame, and every time a team gets their 2nd loss — they know damn well the committee will at least keep them ranked ahead of the Irish.
While most reasonable Irish fans have resigned themselves to a Camping World Bowl bid, and the college football playoff rankings don’t have a final poll... this does hurt Notre Dame’s chances at a Top 10 finish at 11-2 because AP voters are sheep (most of them). The proof was when they screwed Notre Dame out of the #4 spot last year because they turned their ballots in BEFORE the championship game between Alabama and Clemson.
I’m not a big conspiracy person, but this just too much BS for me to buy.
The college football playoff committee can go fuck themselves.
