The Notre Dame Fighting Irish rolled over the Boston College Eagles Saturday, but SB Nation readers still weren’t impressed to rank the Irish any higher than No. 15.
The FanPulse survey, conducted Sunday with participants in 66 SB Nation college football communities, kept the Irish where they’ve been for four of the last five weeks. The Penn State Nittany Lions and Oregon Ducks remained ahead of Notre Dame despite earning their second loss, while the idle, two loss Florida Gators moved up one spot.

Self-identified Irish fans created their own Top 25 and, unsurprisingly, they are kinder to their favorite team. Notre Dame checks in at No. 12 on this collective poll, ahead of the Memphis Tigers, Auburn and Oregon. (Agree? Disagree? You can sign up here to add your opinion starting Saturday evening.*)

Among the Irish faithful, confidence in the direction of the football program rose very slightly to 91.2 percent. That’s up 0.9 percent from last week, but down from the season high of 97.3 percent established after Week 4.
Fanbases of the Irish’s 2019 opponents were also asked about the direction of their teams and here’s where they stand:

Irish football fans were also asked about the confidence they had in their men’s basketball team, and Mike Brey’s squad gets a 72.2 percent approval rating this week.
Finally, to add a bit of levity to the survey, respondents were also asked, “Which Thanksgiving side should be banned?” Candied yams or sweet potatoes was the choice of 31.2 percent of those who answered, while green bean casserole was just behind at 29.2 percent. A quarter of respondents said mac and cheese, while ten percent said stuffing. Nearly four percent are just looking to start trouble at Thanksgiving by banning mashed potatoes.
