Notre Dame destroys Bowling Green 52-0 in real college football game

Not as high scoring as we expected, but it was good enough.

There was no doubt all week that the Notre Dame Fighting Irish were going to beat the Bowling Green Falcons into the ground, and there was nothing that happened in the game that was going to alter that outcome. After a full four quarters, the Irish walk away with a 52-0 win over BG.

Ian Book finished his day early in the 3rd quarter, but not before he went 16-20 for 261 yards and 5 touchdowns. Tony Jones junior added 102 yards on the ground for the day, but was kept out of the endzone.

It was a day for the backups and for some freshmen. Once the game was easily in hand, the platoons of younger players and non-starters came in wave after wave.

The win puts the Irish at 4-1 and ready to welcome the USC Trojans for a prime time game next week.

This was the first Irish shutout since 37-0 against the Michigan Wolverines in 2014... thanks Brian VanGorder. We will have much more about this game on One Foot Down.
