Notre Dame Football Recruiting: Irish add a lot of speed with commitments from Deion Colzie and Lorenzo Styles JR.

The future is quick.

It was a big recruiting weekend for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Not only did the Irish win against its biggest rival — the USC Trojans — it won out on the recruiting trail against a couple of Big State U’s.

On Saturday, Notre Dame got a verbal commitment from 2021 4-Star wide receiver Deion Colzie.

Colzie is a 6’4” stud from Athens Georgia, and the Irish won out over the Alabama Crimson Tide, Florida Gators, and yes... the Georgia Bulldogs. Colzie runs a 4.5 40, but his size and athleticism makes him an enormous freak and matchup problem for opposing defenses.

Colzie is the #51 overall prospect in the 2021 class, and is now the top-ranked commitment for the Irish.

On Sunday, it was reported that another 2021 4-Star WR gave his commitment to Notre Dame. That recruit is Lorenzo Styles Jr. from Pickerington, Ohio.

Styles chose the Irish over the Florida Gators, Auburn Tigers, and yes... the Ohio State Buckeyes. He runs a legit 4.4 40, and has been mentioned as a comparison to Michael Crabtree by 247’s Allen Trieu.

Keep in mind that both players are 2021 prospects and are still only juniors right now in high school. Still, the Irish are doing fantastic for that cycle and are currently ranked #3 in the team recruiting rankings by 247:

I’ll have more on Notre Dame’s recruiting efforts for both the 2020 and 2021 classes as we step into another bye week (which gives me a lot more time to dive in). Until then, you can double FIST PUMP UP, as the Irish add the speed and athleticism needed to compete at an elite level.
