In a bit of a surprising move, Senior Miles Boykin announced that he will be declaring for the NFL Draft. It seemed as though he was leaning towards a return to South Bend for a fifth year, but Boykin must have a good feeling about his stock coming off a breakout senior year. He burst onto the scene last year in one of the most famous catches in recent memory in a game against the LSU Tigers. Boykin will finish his career with 77 catches, over 1,200 yards, and 11 touchdowns.
This will be a big blow for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Ian Book specifically, who clearly leaned on Boykin throughout the year. This will open the door for some of the younger, bigger receivers like Kevin Austin, Micah Jones, and others to get on the field. Boykin has been a great receiver and role model for the Irish over the last couple years, and we wish him the best!
As always, GO IRISH.
