If you’re a fan of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and found yourself screaming at the TV, or into the thick air of Notre Dame Stadium, “THERE WAS A GUY WIDE OPEN!”
You were probably seeing former walk-on Chris Finke with no one around him as he runs another good passing route.
Despite some missed opportunities, Finke finished the season as the third leading receiver with 49 receptions for 571 yards and two touchdowns. One sixer was a beautiful over the shoulder catch against the USC Trojans to help jumpstart the Irish offense, and the other was when he straight MOSSED the Michigan Wolverines.
Thankfully, we will get another season of Chris Finke running wild against the opposing defense’s secondary. He made his announcement for his fifth year via Instagram:
Even though we all pretty much figured he would return in 2019, this is still great news — and an even better announcement.
