If there was any doubt that wide receiver Chase Claypool was going to return to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish for the 2019 season, it can be put to bed now. Claypool released this video on social media that solidifies his decision.

As the regular season ended, there were some doubts about Claypool playing in his final year of eligibility. Although most would suggest that he needs another year developing as a wide receiver before entering the NFL Draft; his size and athleticism is exactly what the NFL is looking for in a player. He’s also a damn fine player on special teams that was one of Notre Dame’s best playmakers as a gunner.
With the loss of Miles Boykin, the Irish couldn’t afford to lose such a veteran receiver. The biggest question now is if Chase can take that next step to stardom with a big year making plays with Ian Book tossing him the ball.
