Notre Dame Football: Irish Hold At #8 in Latest USA Today Coaches Poll

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish entered week two ranked eighth in the USA Today Coaches Poll. After a 24-16 victory over the Ball State Cardinals in South Bend on Saturday, they will enter week three in the same position.

As a matter of fact, the top ten of the USA Today Coaches Poll will be exactly the same in week three. Here’s the complete Top 25:

Virginia Tech moved up three spots to 11th after a 62-17 win over William & Mary. Stanford holds right behind ND at ninth following a 17-3 win against USC. That loss dropped USC back to 21st after that loss. Michigan stayed put at 22nd after a big win over Western Michigan.

Notre Dame’s next game is against Vanderbilt on September 15th. The Commodores received three votes in this week’s poll.

Notre Dame’s next game against a Top 25 team comes against ninth ranked Stanford on October 29th.
