Gameday has finally arrived for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Stanford Cardinal. There is much on the line for both teams tonight in prime time, and if past games can serve as any precedent, it should be a fiercely fought battle.

For the Irish in particular, this game is what will set up the rest of the season. Win, and EVERYTHING is still on the table. On paper, this is the toughest game the Irish have remaining on the schedule. While it still seems a little bit ridiculous that we are starting to talk about 12-0 as a possibility, the truth is that the Irish will probably be favored in every remaining game — including Stanford.

That’s a lot of pressure, but should the Irish lose, the pressure of making this a good season really gets turned up because of that same schedule. An 11-1 Notre Dame team would most likely miss the playoffs, and they could find a weak argument for a New Years 6 bowl as well.

Maybe I’m getting ahead of myself... we still have a tree to chop down.

The game thread is open below. I know many of us are on Twitter for most of the game, but I encourage you to vent and do other things that require more than 280 characters here.
