Thought

Well. Here it is folks. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are 4-0 and head into a HIGHLY anticipated undefeated matchup against the Stanford Cardinal. Our offense found its rhythm last weekend, despite missing one of its most explosive players for the 4th straight week.....

Enter Dexter Williams.

Dexter Williams has been “suspended” for the last 4 weeks, but it seems that whatever he did, he is completely out of the dog house. Brian Kelly has raved about his work in the off season and noted in his press conference that we should, “expect him to do something for us this week”. The biggest questions are not surrounding his abilities, but exactly how much he is going to be involved in the game plan this week. Unlike an injury, he will not be limited and will be extremely hungry after watching other carry the load in his absence.

It will also be interesting to note how a 3 man rotation will work as Williams joins Jafar Armstrong and Tony Jones Jr., who have been very solid so far. Williams bring a much more home run style of running, and hopefully Chip Long finds creative ways to get him the ball in space. My hope is that he doesn’t try to do anything radically different, but allows Williams to be smoothly inserted into the game plan, while not abandoning the other two backs completely.

All of this begs the question......How many carries are you expecting out of Dexter this week?

Just in case you forgot, he is a very good football player......
