The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have been ranked eighth in the AP Top 25 and the USA Today Coaches Poll for the last several weeks. Here in week five, they remain in that spot after an impressive win over Wake Forest behind Ian Book.

Here’s the complete week five AP Top 25:

LSU made the jump to #5 after a 4-0 start and switched places with Oklahoma, who barely fended off Army this week. Penn State also jumped to #9 and Auburn fell back a spot to #10 while Washington dropped to #11.

UCF, Michiganm Wisconsin, and Miami also made significant jumps in the middle of the rankings while Kentucky and Texas now hold the #17 and #18 spots respectively after not being in the top 25 last week.

Future Notre Dame opponent Virginia Tech (along with Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas A&M, and Boston College) fell out of the top 25 this week.

Notre Dame now turn their attention to #7 Stanford with the Cardinal coming to South Bend for a massive game for both teams this Saturday.
