The Notre Dame Fighting Irish turned in another victory under new starting quarterback Ian Book this week. The 56-27 win wasn’t enough to move the Irish up in USA Today’s latest Top 25, however, and here they sit at #8 for the fourth week in a row.

Here’s the complete week five Top 25:

The only change in the top ten was Auburn moving into the tenth spot from the eleventh. Virginia Tech fell from #10 to #24 after a road loss to Conference USA’s Old Dominion. There were several changes between rankings ten and twenty, with Auburn, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, UCF, Michigan, Miami, and Michigan State all jumping forward between one and six spots.

The Kentucky Wildcats, however, have soared into the 17th spot after not being ranked at all the previous week. TCU, Texas A&M, and Boston College all dropped out of the top 25.

This week, Notre Dame hosts #7 Stanford in what will be an incredibly important game for both team’s playoff chances. The Irish also have #24 Virginia Tech coming up on October 6th.
