Notre Dame Football: Betting Lines for Wake Forest Game, Plus Championship and Jafar Armstrong Heisman Odds

Would you rather lay 7 1⁄2 points on the Irish this weekend or drop $25 on Jafar Armstrong winning a Heisman?

Mike Miller/One Foot Down

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are 7 12 point favorites in their noon game Saturday against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, according to oddsmakers at 5Dimes.eu.

The line-setters at Bovada.lv are even more bullish, making the 3-0 Irish eight point favorites as visitors. The over/under — or the predicted number of points oddsmakers believe will be scored in the game by both teams combined — is 60 at Bovada and 60 12 points at 5Dimes.

SportsInsights says 66 percent of the current slips are taking Notre Dame and laying the points. (This figure does not take into account how much money is bet on each team.)

The OddsShark computer is predicting a 35-33 Irish win, which would pay all bettors holding slips for Notre Dame on the moneyline, Wake Forest against the spread and the over.

If you’re considering betting this game, here are some trends from OddsShark:

  • The total has gone over in four of Notre Dame’s last six games on the road.
  • Wake Forest is 2-3-1 against the spread in its last six games at home.
  • The total has gone under in three of Notre Dame’s last four games vs. Wake Forest, with an average combined score of 49.75. (Last year was the exception to the trend, as the two teams combined for 85 points.)

CHAMPIONSHIP ODDS

In the first two weeks, I used championship odds from the South Point Casino in Las Vegas. Those odds haven’t been published anywhere online this week, so we’ll use the Westgate Las Vegas Superbook again as an alternative.

Notre Dame’s odds of winning the 2019 National Championship stay at 20-to-1 following their defeat of the Vanderbilt Commodores. They started at 40-to-1 in the first week of January.

Here are the odds of the Irish’s opponents winning it all:

HEISMAN ODDS

I don’t think anyone playing for the Irish — or against them — is winning the Heisman Trophy this year. Oddsmakers at Westgate Las Vegas Superbook are now offering better odds for running back Jafar Armstrong than quarterback Brandon Wimbush.
