It’s about to get real y’all. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish will be traveling for the first time this season, and there are still many questions surrounding this team — and in particular, with this offense. Will a trip to Winston-Salem to take on the Wake Forest Demon Deacons be chance for the Irish to rally together and put more focus on the game? Or will a team that has struggled to put teams away find the slopes of the rode too slippery to climb?
Two things continue to stick out as points that help tell the tale of this season so far, and perhaps help provide predictors for the future:
- Notre Dame has yet to be behind in a game so far this season. And given the quickness of their scoring in the first quarter (and first drive), they have been in the lead for 172 minutes and 53 seconds of the 180 minutes of gametime. They haven’t even been tied outside of the 0-0 to start the game.
- Drue Tranquill and Te’von Coney have played just about every down on defense (I don’t have the exact count).
How might Notre Dame react if they fall behind on the road against a team that runs a tempo offense?
I really can’t say right now, but that’s what we’re here for all week. You can follow along in with the stream all week long.
