The Notre Dame Fighting Irish take center stage in week one of the college football season by hosting the Michigan Wolverines in prime time. The spectacle gets cranked up another notch (like 11) with ESPN’s College Gameday road show in attendance.
Time to dig down deep and put that wonderful and warm feeling of pure hatred back in your heart.
For most of the offseason, pundits have strongly leaned towards Michigan in this game. Most have used a rather lazy path of analysis to come to their conclusions, and have used the most base arguments.
THANK GOD. A lead up to this game having the Irish as the the “media darling” would feel dirty and weird.
Forget all that noise though. The most important thing here is that this heated, volatile, unpredictable, and often ugly battle of two programs that despise one another is about to kick off the season. It’s a series built for love, because it’s made out of hate.
I’m so ready for this.
(Just as we did last year, all game weeks will have their own story stream so you’ll be able to navigate the articles however you like throughout the season.)
