The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are preparing to head to Culver Academies to start fall camp tomorrow, and head coach Brian Kelly gets things started with his annual press conference.
You can watch the press conference in its entirety below, but a few highlights are:
- A vague answer to the Dexter Williams situation, “he’s on the roster.”
- A preference for blue uniforms in a green crowd.
- How good Houston Griffith is right now.
- The development of Brandon Wimbush.
- Avery Davis at running back.
- TRAITS!
- The inability to read Drue Tranquill.
- I don’t recall hearing a single word about Alizé Mack.
Obviously Brian Kelly is excited (as we all are) about the beginning of a new season. He gives glowing praise when discussing his staff, and compliments what the players have done in the offseason both on and off the field.
Kelly said he has more questions than answers at this point - and that’s probably more true than previous years. After taking full responsibility for the Miami collapse, I think he wants to continue to address the reasons why that happened, and help keep from falling in that trap again in 2018.
We will have much more in the days to come, but like Kelly, I think many of us have far more questions than answers at this point, and we will look to gain some clarity during the weeks ahead.
