USA Today’s Erick Smith had this to say about Notre Dame’s outlook for the year:
“With some key losses on the offensive line, the success of the Irish likely will fall to whether QB Brandon Wimbush can be more consistent throwing the ball. The defense will be better, but a tough schedule, starting with Michigan, will be difficult to manage without support from the offense.”
In the most recent edition of the poll (which was released back on May 20th of this year), the Irish were also ranked 11th.
