The best play for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish this past school year is now the best play of the sports year. Women’s basketball star, Arike Ogunbowale won the ESPY for best play with her National Championship winning shot in the NCAA Tournament.

It’s been a whirlwind tour of celebration for Arike this offseason as she was a guest on Ellen and met Kobe Bryant, and she was a contestant in the ABC reality show Dancing With The Stars.
While winning the ESPY is another notch in her belt and for the Fighting Irish program, that National Championship is still the sweetest thing.
The only thing better than winning a national championship? Winning it on a buzzer-beater. @Arike_O did that in this year's Best Play! #ESPYS pic.twitter.com/wqlJuczYBj
