HUGE Recruiting Weekend Coming Up For The Notre Dame Fighting Irish Football Team

These are officially OFFICIAL.

NCAA Football: Wake Forest at Notre Dame Matt Cashore-USA TODAY Sports

This weekend, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish will host eight 2019 recruits for their official visit. With the new Early Signing Period, recruits are now allowed to start taking their official visits in the spring and summer, whereas before, they had to wait until the season started.

A lot of times, recruits would basically waste a coaching staff’s time (at lots of schools) by scheduling an official visit for a big game without having much interest in attending the school they were visiting. These new spring and summer official visits (many believe) are really being used by those with peak interest.

That’s quite a large collection of solid talent on the schedule.

  • Notre Dame could lockdown Correll with this visit. Zeke just visited the Stanford Cardinal, but it’s believed that the Irish are still in the lead and looking to close.
  • Wormley has a top 3 of ND, the Penn State Nittany Lions, and Rutgers Scarlet Knights. Penn State is the favorite, but Notre Dame gets their shot to change his mind. He’s absolutely a “take” even if Correll commits.
  • DJ Turner is going to be a member of the Michigan Wolverines. Good luck with that.
  • Asa Turner is a west coast kid with a west coast offer list. Notre Dame will have to greatly impress to get Turner to be a bit more than interested, He’s believed to be a lean to the Washington Huskies.
  • Brendon Clark’s visit is increasingly important after Graham Mertz reaffirmed his commitment to the Wisconsin Badgers on Twitter on Thursday.
  • Kyren Williams might be the most interesting recruit to watch, Notre Dame is struggling to recruit a running back, and at least we should know more where Notre Dame stands with Williams after this visit.
  • DiCosmo appears to be a battle between the Irish and Wolverines, but both Stanford and the UCLA Bruins are going to make things interesting.
  • Ojabo’s mother is flying all the way from Scotland to accompany him on this visit. Penn State leads, and the Irish will have to impress David quite a bit.

The Irish just received two commitments at linebacker this week, and still lack an offensive skill player. That could change soon with solid visits with Williams and Clark. I really think Notre Dame wraps things up with Correll this weekend as well.

It’ll get real interesting real quick — THANKS EARLY SIGNING PERIOD!
