The No. 8 Notre Dame Fighting Irish capped off their regular season with a 17-5 victory over Army on Senior Day yesterday at Arlotta Stadium.
Many fans wondered if yesterday’s game would be the last time Notre Dame played at Arlotta this season. They received their answer on Sunday night.
During the NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Selection Show, it was revealed that Notre Dame will be the No. 7 overall seed during the upcoming NCAA Tournament. The top eight seeds get to host a first round game, and the Irish (9-5) will host Denver (12-3) on Sunday, May 13th at 2:15 pm eastern time at Arlotta Stadium. The game will be televised on ESPNU.
The winner of the No. 7 Notre Dame-Denver game will take on the winner of the No. 2 Albany-Richmond game in the quarterfinals on Saturday, May 19th at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York.
Many people who follow college lacrosse say Notre Dame-Denver could end up being one of the best games of the opening round. Notre Dame is one of the hottest teams in lacrosse right now. Denver has reached Championship Weekend of the NCAA’s in five of the last seven years.
Notre Dame defeated Denver 11-9 back on March 10th.
