Te’von Coney was undecided on whether or not to enter the 2018 NFL Draft. He had an outstanding junior season. Coney was by far and away the biggest breakout player for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in 2017. To be honest, nobody could have faulted him if he would have left Notre Dame. It will be hard to top what he did and improve his draft stock. Te’von Coney surprised some people and announced he was returning to Notre Dame, instantly changing the outlook for the 2018 Notre Dame defense.

With such a big jump in performance from sophomore to junior year, it will be interesting to see what Coney has in store for the junior to senior year transition. Te’von Coney is without a doubt Notre Dame’s best tackler. When he gets his hands on you, you are going down. He meets the running back in the hole and drives him back. As a fan, it is awesome to see a linebacker do this consistently. Look for more of the same from Coney when it comes to stopping the run.

Country, Condiment, Or Canon
Identifying the player as either a country, condiment, or member of the Star Wars Canon.
Canada. I had to reach here to make a comparison. First off, by all accounts, Te’von Coney is very quiet. Canada seems to stay out of other people’s business, just chugging along and doing their own thing. I could be totally wrong about Canada but this is the vibe I get. Also, has anybody every invaded Canada? I am going to go with no for comparison reasons. Nobody invades Te’von Coney’s space on the football field.
2018 Outlook
Te’von Coney will again be Notre Dame’s best tackler. He will lead the team in tackles and tackles for loss. This is one player that you can count on and know what you are going to get. Coney showed no signs of slowing down last season. He really did get better every week. With a new defensive coordinator, it will be nice to have a consistent force anchoring the defense.
