Equanimeous St. Brown one of the best wide receivers for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish will start a new journey, after being drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL Draft. St. Brown passed up his senior year to get a chance to play with the big boys - so here’s his chance after a LONG wait to be drafted.
Equanimeous came to Notre Dame as a highly sought after 4 star prospect from California. His commitment was not only fancy (the guy can speak a few different languages) but it also added a lot of athleticism to the Irish wide receiving group. We also thought that Notre Dame would be in the driver’s seat for his two younger brothers that play the same position, but Osiris and Amon-Ra chose the Stanford Cardinal and USC Trojans respectively.
St. Brown was Notre Dame’s best receiver in 2016 with DeShone Kizer and a pass-friendly offense, but with Kizer bolting to the NFL and a new emphasis on the ground game, he didn’t come close to matching his production from the year before. St. Brown will be teammates once again with Kizer since the Packers traded the Cleveland Browns for the quarterback this offseason.
The physical tools are all there for St. Brown, but toughness and the will to be great continue to be question marks for his game. If he puts forth the effort to become a good NFL wide receiver, I have no doubt that he will do great things.
