The Notre Dame Fighting Irish added another really good prospect to its 2019 class when 4 Star Defensive End, Howard Cross committed to the Irish. Cross was only offered just earlier this month, but the New Jersey native wanted that offer BADLY.

Cross chose the Irish over a number of really good offers from programs like the Tennessee Volunteers, Michigan Wolverines, and Virginia Tech Hokies.
Cross reminds me a little bit of former star Isaac Rochell, and has the frame to play as big. He plays with total effort, but has a head for the game and rarely lets those emotions get the best of him on the field.
Cross becomes the third commitment of this weekend, and the fifth overall commitment of the 2019 class. That class has moved up in the 247 Composite Team rankings to #15, and is continuing to trend upwards.
The Irish have added a lot of defensive difference makers to this class, with four of the commitments being on that side of the ball. It’s a job well done by both defensive coordinator Clark Lea and assistant Mike Elston.
