The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have done very well on the recruiting trail over the past few years, and a part of their success is their willingness to allow recruits to enroll early. These recruits have graduated from high school early, and then head to school for winter semester to have the ability to participate in spring football.
It’s a huge head start for both players and coaches alike. Notre Dame first started allowing this is 2006 with three players — and now we sit here with ten ready to put on the gold helmet for the first time this spring. Last year the Irish had seven enroll early.
We realize most of this is common knowledge by now, but it’s always good to have an extra cheat sheet on a day like today.
