Welcome to another Bagpipe Monday on One Foot Down! Friends, there is big news on the horizon for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. On Wednesday, the first signing period for the 2019 recruiting class begins, and for the second year in a row... the Irish will sign 20 recruits in December.

Honestly, things kind of feel like they’re on cruise control right now. I know some people are a little frustrated at the lack of 5 star talent that the Irish have recruited, and you can count me as one of the frustrated — but they are still doing extremely well across the board.
So... how are you feeling about all of this? Are you content with the way Notre Dame is recruiting? Are you excited? Are you scratching your head at the lack of 5 star players? Are you still wondering about the hand in the face to Florida?
One thing is for certain, and that’s the fact (mostly) that there is a real lack of angst and worry when it comes to Notre Dame recruiting right now. I’ve been reporting on football recruiting for 12 years now, and I remember the stress involved with signing days. Is the lack worry a result of doing better, or is it because of the plan the Irish have in place?
Does it even matter?

I suppose you can go ahead and wrestle with those thoughts over the next few days, as there is nothing of serious note that we have to worry about on the recruiting front.
Enjoy the pipes! (As I have been doing for the lead up to the college football playoff, the bagpipes are substituted for a random hype video).
