The Notre Dame Fighting Irish basketball team got off to a great start this season when they blew out the Illinois-Chicago Flames in the opening game of the Gotham Classic. Now the Irish look to keep it going against the Chicago State Cougars.
Notre Dame got a lot of solid play from their freshmen, and the kids looked good. Personally, I loved seeing UConn Juwan Durham in action as his “swats per minute played ratio” (making the title of the stat up) was like 1-3.
Robby Carmody seems to be just fine after leaving the game with a shoulder injury, and he could start again for the Irish.
It’s all very exciting right now as we start the season. We know this team is young, but they also have some serious veterans like Rex Pflueger and T.J. Gibbs. Mike Brey has made a living off of exceeding expectations, so I just can’t wait to see this season unfold.
