In the latest College Football Playoff rankings released on Tuesday night, the 9-0 Notre Dame Fighting Irish were rewarded for their efforts in last week’s win against Northwestern. The loss of (formerly) #3 LSU to #1 Alabama helped things along as well with Notre Dame taking over the #3 spot in the new rankings.

Rounding out the top four are Alabama at #1, Clemson at #2, and Michigan at #4.
LSU fell all the way to #7 after their loss this weekend. Michigan rises to #4 after being #5 last week.
The Irish next take the field this Saturday in a home game against the Florida State Seminoles on NBC. Their next and likely final game against a ranked team before the postseason will be against # Syracuse at Yankee Stadium on November 17th.
If you need a reminder, here’s a look at what that postseason will look like, timing wise:
Semifinal #1 - Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic - AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas
4 p.m. or 8 p.m. ET on ESPN on December 29th
Semifinal #2 - Capital One Orange Bowl - Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida
4 p.m. or 8 p.m. ET on ESPN on December 29th
College Football Playoff National Championship - Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California
