The Notre Dame Fighting Irish didn’t have the easiest night on Saturday beating the Northwestern Wildcats by a score of 31-21. As far as the national rankings are concerned, the game was enough to keep them where they have been when paired with what happened in the rest of the college football world in week ten. Let’s dive right into it.

The top three stayed the same this week after blowout victories by Alabama and Clemson, plus Notre Dame’s win. Michigan has made their way into the top four after being #5 last week and taking down Penn State at home. Oklahoma and Ohio State each moved up one spot to the #6 and #7 spots respectively after their wins. Meanwhile, West Virginia moved from #10 to #8 and Washington State moves from #11 to #9. LSU dropped from #4 to #10 after the loss to Alabama. Future ND opponent Syracuse had a big jump from #24 to #13 after a 41-24 win over Wake Forest.

In the AP Poll, the top ten is largely the same with Ohio State and West Virginia being flipped , with LSU and Washington State being flipped as well. Syracuse is also at #13 in this week’s AP Poll. The only AP voter to put the Irish behind Michigan was Pat Dooley.
Notre Dame’s next game is on Saturday, November 20th at home against Florida State. The Shamrock Series game against Syracuse at Yankee Stadium is the following Saturday.
