The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are 9-0 after beating the Northwestern Wildcats, 31-21 on Ryan Field. It was kind of a screwball game if you think about it. Hell... you don’t even have to think about it — just look at one stat line in particular:
PENALTIES
- Notre Dame 8 / 58 yards
- Northwestern 0 / 0 yards
I don’t care what anyone says... that’s some bull crap. Even if you could jump into an alternate universe where holding is never a penalty, there are still pass interference calls, targeting, and the fact that Pat Fitzgerald put his hands all over Jerry Tillery.
It was a weird night, but the Irish took the win and almost doubled up on the Wildcats in total yards.
