Game Thread: #4 Notre Dame Fighting Irish VS Northwestern Wildcats

One of the more common statements made about the Notre Dame Fighting Irish during the offseason (and some of this season) was that they had a few trap games on the schedule. One of those trap games was said to be the Northwestern Wildcats.

I hate the phrase “trap game.” It’s a lazy way to describe a lazy performance. But if I was someone that used that phrase... it wouldn’t be this week. We can say whatever we want about Northwestern, but they sit on top of the Big 10 West standings, and enough people have suggested that the Irish could trip up here, that this game isn’t being overlooked.

It’s a road game — nothing more and nothing less.
