As the postseason is already in effect for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, so too is the annual award season. After 12 games, the Irish are 12-0 and headed to the college football playoff. A big part of that success was due to the dynamic play of cornerback Julian Love.
Love is a finalist this season for the Jim Thorpe Award — the annual trophy given to the nation’s best defensive back. A Notre Dame player has never received this award, so if Love were to win, he would be making even more history for his beloved Notre Dame.
Julian is up against two other extremely talented players in Deandre Baker from the Georgia Bulldogs, and Greedy Williams from the LSU Tigers. Let’s take a a quick look at the comparison:
