The forecast predicts a gentle breeze will be blowing at Ryan Field, with a 5 percent chance of rain in the area. The probability of precipitation won’t materially increase until long after fans have left their parking spaces.
The high will be 53 degrees Fahrenheit and the low will be 48 degrees. That’s a pretty normal day in Evanston, with last year’s Nov. 3 having a high of 49 and a low of 40.
The Irish last played a Nov. 3 road game in 1990, in a game billed as “Mismatch in the Meadowlands.” Notre Dame prevailed over Navy, 52-31, and reclaimed the top spot following top-ranked Virginia’s loss to Georgia Tech.
